Aubrey's Birth Story

While it is still fresh on my memory I better type up the birth story for Aubrey.

Sunday, January 29th I spent the day at the mall with my mom, sister, and Addison. We literally walked for five hours. I was so determined that this little girl was gonna come out soon. After that we went to my Meme's and then to dinner. While we were at dinner I started feeling crampy but figured it was just soreness from walking. When I got home I decided to relax in a bath before bed.

Around 2 am I was woken by some contractions. They were the good ones that start in the back and wrap to the front. I laid there in bed for about 30 minutes before deciding they were the real deal and woke Matt So he could shower and call my mom. As soon as i got out of bed the contractions went from 8 minutes apart to every 3-4 minutes.

We arrived at the hospital around 4am and had to be monitored in triage. Upon arrival I was 3 cm and after an hour I was 5 cm so we obviously were in labor and they were going to keep us.

We got up to our room and the contractions started to get more intense so I told them to bring on the epidural. It felt like it took them forever to do it because there were three other women ahead of me. Around 7 am the epidural was in and I was feeling great. The nurse wanted to wait and check me but I was feeling some pressure so she checked and I was 7 cm.

I spent the next few hours resting and hanging with the family that came to the hospital. Around 9:30 Aubrey had a dip in her heart rate so the nurse came in and wanted to check me because sometimes the heart rate dips when the water breaks but mine hadn't yet. When she went to check me my water did break and I was at 9 cm. so the nurse started to get ready and called the doctor. Not sure of the exact time I started pushing but I pushed 3 times and she was born.

The labor was very much like Addison's. I know I make most women sick but both labors were very easy to me and quick.

We are absolutely in love with this little girl and her big sister is beyond thrilled she is here and already loves her so much.

38 weeks

Well the date I had Addison (37w 6d) has come and gone. Not surprised but it is hard to believe that by this time with her I was past all of the pregnancy :) Hopefully by this weekend she will be here. My last work day is Friday and I don't want to just sit at home waiting next week. If she isn't here then Addy and I will most definitely be planning some trips out.

Since I haven't done one of these in a while here is my 38 week survey.

How far along? 38 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +16 lbs
Maternity clothes? Pants and some shirts
Stretch marks? None
Sleep: Contractions off and on the past few days so not the best sleep but not horrible either.
Best moment this week: Finding out that I'm now 3 cm and making progress
Movement: Still Alot!!
Food cravings: Nothing in particular. Plan to go to Babes this Friday if she isn't here by then.
Gender: Girl 100%
Labor Signs: No consistent labor pains. Lost my mucus plug and increased braxton hicks. Hopefully its all making more progress.
Belly Button in or out? Flat now
What I miss: not aching. My body just aches all the time. Mostly when standing or walking.
What I am looking forward to: Meeting this little girl. We are ready in every way just need her to come on with it.
Weekly Wisdom: Stripping of membranes can just cause cramps no labor!
Milestones: Just being 2 weeks from due date!

Today's appointment

Had a good appointment today at the doctor. I'm currently 3cm, 50% effaced and her head was really low. While I was there the dr stripped my membranes and I lost my mucus plug. So really anyday now is what her guess was. I have been super crampy since the appointment so I choose to take the afternoon off just in case. I work a good thirty minutes from home and fourth five from Matt's job so i don't want to get stuck out at work with out him and unable to drive my self. Yes, there are others who could take me but in all reality who wants to go in to labor at work. Can you saw awkward??

Well that is it for now. I will keep you all posted as things progress. Hopefully sooner rather than later. :)

Ahh the wait...

I love the surprise of Aubrey picking her own birth date but I hate the wait. Tuesday will be 37w6d which is exactly when I had Addison. So that makes me even more anxious for Aubrey to be here. Although I'm starting to get the feeling she may be in for the longer haul. This time last pregnancy I was miserable, contractions every night, lost my mucus plug, and just down right ready. This time I actually feel ok maybe even good. No where near miserable yet. I have had a few contractions that I think are just mearly uncomfortable braxton hicks and my hips and pelvis are sore but other than that I'm good. Still getting good sleep in between potty breaks. As much as I hope she comes this week that may all be a pipe dream. My last day of work is this Friday though so if I make it till next week Addy and I will just enjoy our time left doing some mother daughter things :)

Well that's all I have for now. Doctors appointment tomorrow and I hope she checks me. Three weeks ago I was 2 cm. so just hoping for a bit more progress :)

Getting closer

Not much to really update on yet. Have had a few good contractions and tons of Braxton hicks but that's about it at this point. Had my 35 week check up last Monday and found out she has flipped and is head down. I'm also 2 cm dilated so that is great. Go back next Monday for my 37 wk exam but I don't think she will check me since she is going out of town that weekend and doesn't want to get anything kick started. After that I will be going to the doctor weekly. If Aubrey is anything like her sister though we may not make it past 38 weeks :)

More to update on in a week or so!!

33 weeks

Today is week 33 in this journey so I figured it was time for another update.

Yesterday we had our doctors appointment. Which I have to stop for a second and rave about how good Addy has been with all of this. She has joined me for most of my appointments (just her and I) and she has been fantastic. She sits quietly in the chair next to me and just listens and watches what the doctor does. Then she talks about it this whole way to work :) I love this girl she is going to be a great big sister and it is amazing how much she really gets!!

On to the doctor appointment its self. Not to exciting just the normal weight, bp, measurements and listen to the heart beat check up. Doctor said Aubrey is doing great and thanked me for being one of her easy patients again. Which I love to be cause that means the pregnancy is easy for me :) One concern (of mine not the Dr's) is that she is still breech or we think she is. So we will give her till 37 weeks to turn and if she doesn't we will schedule a c section. TURN AUBREY!! OK had to get that out :)

Now on to the survey...

How far along? 33weeks

Total weight gain/loss: +10 lbs

Maternity clothes? Pants and some shirts

Stretch marks? None

Sleep: Actually surprisingly great. I'm up less at night than I was with Addy which I think has something to do with her being breech and not pushing my bladder all night. I usually just get up once and that is it. Most nights I'm in bed by 9:30 and I sleep like a rock.

Best moment this week: Just spending time with Addison. I'm really cherishing these last few weeks of just us time!

Movement: Tons! She is so high though that it can be painful at times when she is in my ribs.

Food cravings: Still nothing. I have to make myself eat most of the time cause nothing sounds good.

Gender: Girl 100%

Labor Signs: None just a bunch of Braxton Hicks

Belly Button in or out? Flat now

What I miss: being able to breathe! She is all up in my lung space!

What I am looking forward to: Christmas this weekend! Now that Addy is getting older it is so much fun! Cant wait for her to see what Santa brought her!

31w1d Appointment

Today we had our 31 week appointment and growth u/s.

So far Aubrey is weighing in at 3lbs 14oz (Addison was 4lb 3oz at this point) so were on track to have another small baby. Addison was 6lb 6oz at birth 2 weeks early. Then only down side right now is she is breech. She still have time to turn head down but if she doesn't by 37 weeks then were looking at a scheduled c section. I would love to say I'm OK with that and actually I tell people its fine but in all reality that sucks! I don't want to have a c section for may reasons and oddly enough not just cause I don't want a scar.

Reasons I don't want a section.

- I want to be able to hold my baby right away!
- I don't want to have an extra long stay at the hospital
- I want to be able to see Addison the first time she sees her sister
- I like the idea of her picking her own birthday so I don't want a scheduled date
- I just don't want to have surgery
- Recovery will suck with a toddler that I cant pick up :(

So there you have it I don't want one and I hope she turns and comes the natural weigh. I will take a 24 hour labor in exchange just to be able to hold her right when she is born!!

No good pictures at this appointment. She is just to squished to get any good profile shots.

On a good note :) I'm only up 8 lbs this pregnancy same as Addison! Hooray for my freak of nature body as my sisters would say!

30 Weeks

Well its been a while since I have updated on Aubrey so here is our 30 week survey :)

How far along? 30 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: +9 lbs

Maternity clothes? Pants and some shirts

Stretch marks? None

Sleep: Could be better. I have had a ton of heart burn and a toddler that refuses to sleep in her bed some nights!

Best moment this week: Watching Addy talk to my tummy and give her sister kisses.
Oh and finishing the nursery with the exception of one more picture I ordered from etsy :)

Movement: Yeppers! Loads of it. They have turned in to more rolls and stretches than kicks. Some quite painful!

Food cravings: Nothing that stands out really. Maybe fruit but i love that even when I'm not pregnant.

Gender: Girl 100%

Labor Signs: Actually had some contractions the other day after over doing it a bit at work, but they quickly went away when I laid down and relaxed. Braxton hicks have been kicking my but as well this time!

Belly Button in or out? In/Out half is starting to poke out a bit. Which is odd cause it never went out with Addison only flat.

What I miss: Bending over! haha! I cant even tie my shoe with out some discomfort.

What I am looking forward to: Our ultrasound next week. They thought because of her high on my stomach heart beat that she may be breech. (I doubt it! I think I def feel a butt pushing my ribs) So we will know that for sure as well as see how much she is est to weight. Only 2 more t week appointments and I'm down to weekly! EEEK time is flying!

Weekly Wisdom: Don't overdo it! What may have been easy with the first pregnancy is 10x harder on your body when your pregnant and have a toddler!

Milestones: 3/4 of the way done! Yippe!!

This past weekend we had family pictures taken by my friend Lauren at LP Photography
I would highly recommend anyone in the DFW area go check her out. She is just starting out so her rates are super low and her pictures are great!!

Any who back to my pictures! We had them taken at Mansfield Park on Broad street. I was extremely windy as you can see by some of our more wind blown looks but over all I think they turned out great. Kinda wish I was wearing a different shirt cause to me I just look fat in this one but there is a 7 month pregnant belly under there so I have a good excuse :)

We have started getting Aubrey's room ready. Not to much to do in there since we opted not to repaint. We figure in a couple years we will redo her room like we did Addy's so why waste our time painting when the light purple looks fine for now. I actually like it a lot even though the bedding we picked out has no purple in it. It still seems to go together nicely :)

Everything is the same from Addy's nursery except for the small shelf and the bedding.

Aubrey Update...

Or Baby Aubrey as Addison likes to call her and all of her dolls! :)

We are now 25 weeks along with Aubrey and its getting more and more real to me that we will have another little girl in just 3 short months! She is moving so much more now and it amazes me how she is already able to give me a good rib kick when I'm sitting down. She must not like being smushed cause when I bend forward she goes nuts.

She also must already love her big sister to the moon and back cause any time Addison is talking or touching my tummy she wiggles away in there. Addison isn't patient enough to fell her but definitely knows Aubrey is in there.

I have my glucose test in two weeks where I get to drink the nasty orange drink that makes me jittery and then have vial after vial of blood drawn. Should be fun!

Then after that I believe we will be already at 2 week appointments with the Dr and an ultrasound in a little over a month to chart her growth.

Just 2 more weeks till the third trimester! My how time really is flying with this one!! :)

Busy weekend!

Wow we had such a busy weekend last weekend! Rehearsal Dinner Friday night, Wedding Saturday and then a birthday party on Sunday! Almost needed to take off Monday to re coop!

I told Matt last night that I was so happy I have a little girl because baking with her is so much fun. Does she really get how to bake yet? No, but she does love helping me which I enjoy. The whole time we were making these yummy cupcakes for her school friends and my work she kept saying "Smells yummy mommy", "Tastes yummy mommy". It was so sweet to see her get excited about making them and she even told me who all she wanted to give them too.

"Mommy's Helper"

After we were done together we unloaded the dishwasher, loaded it, did laundry and picked up. Addison has taking a liking to helping me with chores lately. Of course it can be faster to do it myself but I have to tell her no and go play a 100x while I work. So letting her help takes longer, is not always 100% how I would do it but if she likes it and wants to help I am more than happy to let her and enjoy spending that time with her. Yesterday she was so proud of herself for helping that she just kept telling Matt "I helping mommy" with a huge grin and would run back to me for more work :)

Oh how I am soaking up all this one on one time with her before Aubrey gets here. Things will be different with two but just as fun I imagine!

Addison's Big Girl Room

In order to make room for the newest edition Addison got to move to the bigger of our spare rooms and get a make over! We painted her walls a light Aqua blue (behr paint Aqua Breeze) and accented with light pink accesories. The bed we bought off craigs list and the night stand and dresser were from my Meme's house that I repainted white and redid the handles.

I love the way the room turned out. Very calm and hopefully a set up she can grow with for a few years. We didnt want to do anything to kiddieish for that very reason. Who can afford a room makeover every few years??

2 year Stats

Addison had her 2 year check up Friday 10/14. Here are her current stats:

Weight - 24 lbs (10th percentile)

Height - 32 inches (25th percentile)

Dr Gold said she is doing great. Small for her age but then again she has never been big so that was of no concern. She didn't need any shots just the option of a flu shot but we never get them. Her or myself so we opted out. She doesn't have to come back for another year for a check up so we will make an appointment for that next year sometime.

Overall besides a little front office drama which I don't feel like going into it was a great visit. As always we love Dr Gold so all is well.

My Back hurts, my bras to tight, my hips shake from left to right. Yeah well they must have been cheering about pregnant women cause that is how i feel right about now.

I really don't remember the hip and back pain being this bad with Addison but then I looked up some old blog posts when I was pregnant with her and right about this time last time I was complaining about the same thing. This time I do think it is a little worse. My picking up Addison days may be soon over at least till were done baking this one. She isn't that heavy yet but these hips just cant take the bending and picking up motion. I have even had to call Matt in to the bathroom to help lift her out of the bath tub or on the times he is not available I make her climb out holding my hand. My heating pad is becoming my best friend :)

Well enough complaining for the day! Two more days till we go to the State Fair of Texas!!

23 Weeks

We had another dr appt today. Just the usual BP, weight and listening to the heartbeat. All went well and next week we will be at viability meaning that if I were to go into labor they would do everything possible to save precious Aubrey. We all know she is a good little girl and will stay put but it is comforting knowing were getting closer :)

Now on to the survey!

Total weight gain/loss: +5 lbs (same as with Addy)

Maternity clothes? Pants and some shirts

Stretch marks? None

Sleep: Good. Really haven't had to pee much at night but as soon as I post this I will be up 3x tonight.

Best moment this week: Laying in bed feeling Aubrey rolling around

Movement: Oh yes! She has kicked it up a notch literally :)

Food cravings: Chocolate Milk and Honey Buns

Gender: Girl 100%

Labor Signs: Heck no

Belly Button in or out? In, but getting flatter

What I miss: Being able to pick Addy up with out my back giving out.

What I am looking forward to: The holidays! Oddly enough now that I have a kid I really do get excited for all the Fall holidays. This wasn't the case a few years ago pre kids.

Weekly Wisdom: Drink more water! This is more just a note to self than wisdom!

Milestones: A week away from being 6 full months along!

Addison is 2!!

My sweet Addison turned 2 yesterday! (Where has the time gone???) I seriously cant believe I am the mom of a two year old and another on the way!! Life is exactly how I hoped it would be with my family but I'm still amazed it has actually happened to me. Addison brings so much joy to my life! I couldn't imagine living another day with out her in it!

For her birthday we celebrated this past Saturday at Abbeys Play town in GP. If you have never been there you need to go! It is a wonderful place to take your toddlers since they only allow 7 and under during the open play and they are never too busy! It is greatness! The staff is very friendly too and at our party they handled every thing for us.

19 week update

I have been sick with a cold last week that turned in to an ear infection so things haven't been fun at our house but I'm getting better.

Anyways, used to do these when I was pregnant with Addison so figured I would do them again :) (Cant remember if I have done one for this pregnancy yet)

How far along? 19 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: -2 as of my visit to care now

Maternity clothes? mostly just pants

Stretch marks? None

Sleep: Good. Still really tired but I blame that more on being sick

Best moment this week: feeling our little one move more.

Movement: Not near as much as Addison moved but getting to be more and more everyday. Still nothing felt on the outside yet though.

Food cravings: Crunchy tacos from taco bell

Gender: Girl is what we were told but not 100% certain. Will know for sure at our u/s tomorrow :)

Labor Signs: no way

What I miss: my immune system! Since having Addison it has gone down hill and now this pregnancy I seem to be even more susceptible to illness

What I am looking forward to: Feeling better and Addison's 2nd birthday in a few weeks :)

Just want to take a minute to brag...

On my sweet ~~little~~ BIG girl Addison! Yesterday we had a relaxing day at home so we threw on the big girl panties and attempted to potty train. She has been using the potty regularly when sat on it but has yet to feel what happens when you wet yourself not in a diaper so I figured since we were home what the hell!

Well she surprised me and did wonderful!! We made a ton of stops in the bathroom and sometimes she went and sometimes she didn't but by the end of the day we only had 2 accidents. Which i finds amazing!! I had to ask her if she needed to go most of them time but there were times I would ask and she would say no and there were times i asked and she said yes and actually went. I really think were on roll with this :)

Hooray for getting one out of diapers before the next arrives!!

Looks like I'm baking another sweet little girl! It was hard to swallow at first cause I was sure this was a little boy but a girl will suit our family just fine. I know how great life is with a sister and I am beyond excited for Addy to get to know that love and friendship as well.

!2 week Update

Well since I did this with Addison and I find myself looking back to compare I figure it would be neat to keep this same record for this little one :)

How far along? 12 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: +1 lb

Maternity clothes? None, probably not for a few more weeks

Stretch marks? None... so far

Sleep: Would be great if I didn't have to pee 5x a night :)

Best moment this week: Seeing our little wiggle worm via ultrasound again

Movement: Moving on the ultrasound but nothing I can feel yet

Food cravings: Taco Bell (Was the same with Addison)

Gender: I really do think this one is a boy but I was wrong last time so who knows

Labor Signs: None

What I miss: Having energy

What I am looking forward to: Getting in to the 2nd tri and not being sick!

Weekly Wisdom: Its hard to take care of a toddler and be pregnant so let your husband do as much as he is willing to do around the house, and its okay to not pick up the house everyday!

Milestones: Last week of the 1st trimester!!

OK so I had a different simpler insurance plan when I had Addison just pay my $3000 deductible and I was covered at 100% and I have from week 16 to 32 to pay it and be done.

Now I have a new job so different insurance and already the doctor bills are piling up and seem way more than what I paid with Addy.

So far my doctor wants $2200 before my 32nd week and the hospital just called saying they also need $1100 before February and to also save an additional $500 in case of a c section I would owe this on the spot at the hospital.

So were already at $3800 and this doesn't even include the anaesthesiologists 20% co insurance I will owe once the baby is here!

I really didnt think this through when we jumped on the lets have a baby train!

I dont even want to think about how im supposed to pay for a birthday party, gifts and Christmas with all of this as well! Can you say charge it!!

Baby #2 Update :)

Tomorrow we will be 10 weeks! 2 more weeks and I can finally relax and actually enjoy this pregnancy. This pregnancy has been so much different than Addison's. I'm not as tired as I was with her but boy have I been sick. I cant seem to make it through a whole meal with out gagging and just looking in the pantry or fridge bring it on every morning. Trying to gather Addy and I's lunches every morning has been the worst. I'm also dealing with a lot of break outs on my face which i didn't have to deal with before. So all around this 1st trimester has been kicking my butt but its all for a good reason :)

Yesterday (9 weeks 4 days) we had another doctor appointment and got to see the little one again. This baby is far more active than Addy was and was moving all over the place so I didn't get near as good of pictures this time but just seeing that healthy heartbeat is all this momma needed to see to feel at peace.

Here are both of the shots we got. Head is on the right in both pictures. I can make out a lot of it but for some I know it will just look like a blob :)

Our next appointment will be on July 26th at 3:00 pm (11 weeks 6 days). We will get one more peek at the baby then I will begin my monthly visits till closer to the end of the pregnancy.

Were having another baby! Yesterday we had a mild scare and got to go in for an early sonogram and thank god everything was perfect. We got to see that tiny little heart beating 131 bpm! (Maybe thinking blue on this one. Addy's heart rate was always in the 160's)

Where has this past month gone. My mom pointed out that I haven't posted in a while and she is right. We have just been super busy and I have had no pictures to post. So what good is a post with no pictures?! I only have one picture for this post but that is better than none!

So to catch you all up a bit here is whats going on in our world!

Addison started swimming lessons at the YMCA last week and so far were unsure about how its going. She seemed like she liked it till she realized that dad was not in the water then she just wanted to get out and run around with him. So this Saturday he either has to come in the water with us or don't come at all. Hopefully this Saturday will go better :)

We have also been looking for a new daycare for Addison. Megan found a job and starts Monday and for the summer our sweet friend Cierra who will be a senior next year is going to watch the girls at my house all summer. Then after summer they will be going to daycare. Where of course is still up in the air. Going to go check out a place this afternoon with the girls and crossing my fingers we like it cause it is a good price and convenient for both mom and dad to pick and drop off.

Hmmm what else have we been up to? Oh yeah Addison is a flower girl in Matt's cousin Chris's wedding this fall and we took her with the bridesmaids to try on dresses. Of course she acted like a complete turd the whole time we were out but she did find a cute dress and I cant wait to see her in it in Oct :)

Well it was going great till a customer that I don't typically care for backed in to my car. I honestly think he wasn't even going to say anything about it either when he walked in. Just started to tell us what he was picking up. Then he tried to tell me he would fix it when I said "No" I will be filing it against the insurance. I'm so mad at what happened but heck shit happens right?!?!

Easter this year was extra special! It feel on my birthday :)

We had all the family over for fajitas and a kick butt Easter egg hunt. They girls were all so cute hunting eggs. They were bored with it after about 10 minutes but all the eggs did get picked up even though some of us mommas had to do it.

Getting to big!

Last week I turned Addison's bed in to a toddler bed. We want to get her used to that before putting her in a twin bed. So I went for it and set it up yesterday. She at first did not want to go to sleep and sat by the door for a long while. Finally I went in there and set with her in bed for a bit and talked to her about being a big girl and sleeping in her big girl bed. Told her I would hang out with her till she fell asleep and I did. Once she was asleep I got up and left the room. She slept the entire night in her bed and didn't get up till I went in her room this morning to check on her.

She is turning in to such a big girl. It makes me sad and at the same time happy that she is growing up and becoming more independent. She amazes me with her knowledge and wit everyday!

I love you Addison Lynn. You will always be my baby!

Family Vacation

OK I know I'm a little late on this but forgive me life has been busy :)

A couple of weekends ago Matt, Addy and I took a family vacation down to San Antonio, TX. We had a blast!! Here is what we did as well as a few pictures. I really didn't want to be behind the camera the whole time so there wasn't much taken. Honestly I loved it though. I spent the whole weekend enjoying my family!

Friday - Drove all day! (OK just 5 hours!) Once we got there we took a walk down to the market place where they were having some sort of fiesta! Literally felt like I was in the movie Selena with all the music haha!

Saturday - We spent the day at Sea World! This was by far my favorite day. Sea World was an awesome place to take Addy. Didn't get to watch too many shows cause sitting still is not Miss A's thang! But we did get to play in the toddler water park area where they have a splash pad. I am determined to find something like this locally to do this summer. It was the neatest thing where water shots from the ground and other toys but it drains right away so no standing water to worry about drowning in.

Sunday - We spent the day down town, ate at Hard Rock, went to this really neat children's museum with all hands on toys to play with, went to the Alamo, River Walk and a mirror maze. Oh and the mall haha had to sneak in a little shopping!

Matt and I got pregnant again this month only to start miscarrying again yesterday :(

I also am going to try a new doctor next month. I really did not like the way that Dr Udells office handled all of this. Nothing against the doctor herself but her nursing staff. I was treated very rudely by Amy the head nurse and she was not sympathetic in the least.

I know I'm probably one of the patients that doctors hate cause I know probably more than most know about my reproductive system. Heck it took me 10 months to conceive Addison and now that I know my peek times its taking no time to conceive twice this year.

I also know where my levels should be and I know that (think that) the reason I keep suffering from early miscarriages is because my progesterone is too low. My blood draw yesterday showed my progesterone was 1. It should be at a minimum of 9 for a healthy chance at pregnancy. So I know i need help there with supplements but because I had Addison just fine they don't think there is a problem, and I know there is.

For now I am done with them though and I have made an appointment with a new doctor for May12th. I have asked that they do a full work up and maybe try and help us when were ready to try again. I plan to take a break till fall just to get past it all emotionally and physically :(

Building a deck (part 4)

Last week Matt pretty much by himself installed all the top decking. The deck is now 80% complete. All we have left is to put the door frame back up, move gutter, and stain and seal the deck. Next weekend it should be 100% bbq ready :)

On to what we did this weekend :)

This weekend we did the bulk of the work on the deck. We built the frame around the deck. This was by far the hardest part thus far. It took us both Sat and Sun to work on this part. We have started laying down the decking but I don't want to post on that till were done.

Last weekend we started part 2 of building our deck. Which includes digging and cementing in the posts. Matt and I took the easy way out and rented an auger from Homedepot. It took Matt 2 hours to dig 9 (10-12 inch deep) holes. Then we cemented in about 4 of them till it got too dark on Saturday and finished the rest on Sunday. It takes the cement 24-48 hours to set before we could do anything else involving them so we waited till this past weekend to do more framing around them. We also bolted in the header to the house using concrete lag bots.

Yesterday morning I had to go in for a follow up blood draw to make sure my levels were going down. A good result is less than 5. Mine were 8! So in three weeks they have gone from 6000 to 8. Which is pretty good if you ask me. They did ask me to use protection till my next cycle then come in for another blood draw to make sure we are at 0. That is where i get frustrated! Do I really have to not try this month! Not that we were exactly planning on trying but we were just going to play the let what happens happens game. We would have to go buy protection too. So i say screw them and I know my body and I know it is back to normal so I'm just going to do what I want to do this month. If something does happen Ill just smile and say OOPS :)

Building a Deck (Part 1)

This past Saturday Matt and I started to build our deck in the back yard. I have wanted this deck for over 2 years now and we are just now getting around to it. Thankfully we got and escrow overage check from over payment so we had the extra money to make it possible. Here are just a few pictures. We already have a lot more done on it but Saturday all I took were the layout pictures. Tomorrow I will post more on part 2. :) The deck will be 24ft x 10ft in size. Everywhere that you see stakes is where a post will be for extra support.

Since the miscarriage I have seemed to be fine, but yesterday I broke down on the phone with my mom crying and it brought up a lot of emotions. I know the m/c was not my fault and nothing I could have done to prevent it. yada yada yada!! But I still feel like I failed. I failed to produce and have a healthy baby. It really just sucks! Then to top it all off my sister in law is pregnant with a healthy baby due just 10 days after I would have been due. Although I know I should be happy for her it is hard when I should be in her shoes right now and I'm not. I'm empty. I just cant imagine how I will feel come October when were at the hospital waiting on her to have her baby knowing that I should be in that same position too. Maybe I will be pregnant again and it wont bother me one bit and maybe I will be so bitter that I wont even want to be up there around a new baby. I guess time will tell. On another note we have been staying busy working on the house. We have started project #2 building a deck. More on that to come in a second :) Sorry for the doom and gloom today just feeling rough. I think its the damn weather!!

DFW Moms Playdate

Well we had our first play date this past weekend at Abbeys Playtown in Grand Prairie. If you have never been there go check it out now!! It is this cool place with toys everywhere. They have a trampoline, roller coaster slides, jump houses, big train blow up that you crawl through, dress up area, kitchen and play house, they also have swings and a toddler area for the really small kids. It was a blast for all of the kids and we plan to go back in a month and we booked it for Addy's birthday!! Not sure who loved it more the kids or the adults. We were all playing just as hard.

Things have just on from crazy to crazier with our family!
Some are good crazy and some not so much!!

First the not so pretty! My mom was admitted to the hospital Wednesday with chest pains and was admitted. Her doctor has been out of town so finally yesterday another doctor performed her surgery. Where they go in through where your leg meets your body and scope up to the heart. My mom has had this done twice before and already has two stints in her heart arteries. Well one of the previous stints closed and there was blockages before and after the original stint. So they ballooned open the original one and placed two additional stints below and above the stint. Now she should be fine and they are hoping to release her from the hospital today. Now the doctors recommend for her to quit smoking cause it is causing to much stress on her heart. So we are going to try and beg her for her grand kids sake to knock the smoking off :) Well see how that goes!

Now on to some much funner things!! My sisters and I have decided to try and create a group for moms. We will host play dates and moms nights in and out. We hope to make this a place for all types of moms. (working, SAHM, and WAHM) As a working mom I find that there aren't near enough play date opportunities on the weekends for us and our kids. So why not just create our own and invite all of our friends with kids :)

Another thing that has been going on at our house is we are working on sprucing up the house a bit. This past weekend we painted our garage floors. Why the garage you ask?!? Because whenever Matt and I have another little one we will need the room her currently uses as his gym and so that will all be moving to the garage, but we didn't want to just shove it out there. We wanted to extend our living space to the garage. So were painting the floors, bought some nice racks for the wall that will hold all of our lawn equipment, hanging some mirrors for a more gym appeal and were also going to buy a weight rack this weekend so it will be organized as well. The garage turned out so awesome it might make me want to work out out there :) (but probably not he he)

It's all over.

I think my body is finally done with this miscarriage. Now I just need my hormone levels to go back down. Took a pregnancy test tonight to see and its still positive so still have some time before its completely out of my system I guess. Heard it can take a few weeks though so I'm not worried. I'll have a doctors appointment next week some time to follow up and make sure all is well. It is nice to know my body did something right for a change and this went as smoothly as possible.

Now to decide when to try again... :)

One of those days...

I don't know whats wrong with me. I'm going to blame it on my hormones cause I'm a woman and I can but just feel in a funk that I cant seem to shake.

Today for some reason seems like one of the worse days. I'm really tired (damn time change) and I miss my little girl. Most days I'm fine, but then again most days are normal days where I drop her off and I know she will be there till Matt or I pick her up. Today however is different. My sister who watches her has to go in to the office for her yearly review. The same office I used to call home but now cringe when I hear the name mentioned. Well while she is doing that she has to bring my daughter with her.

So my daughter gets to mingle and hang with my old employers. So I guess that is why today is so hard for me. If I just had a never ending stack of vacation days today would have been one of the days I took off. The thought of her in a place that brings back bad memories for me makes me want to break down and cry alone at my desk :(

Gosh this year just gets better and better!

For some good news though we booked our Vacation trips for the year a few weeks ago. In early April we will be going to San Antonio just the three of us and enjoying Sea World, River Walk and maybe even the Alamo. I'm really looking forward to just a vacation us three with no interruptions. May just leave my phone at home so I can really get away from it all. 23 days till San Antonio!!! :)

Then in May we will be going on the big family trip to the lake. Its becoming a tradition for the Larsen side of the family. My dad so kindly books the rooms and then us kids provide and cook the dinners for the weekend. This year I wont be able to stay as long but any time is better than no time. Down side is I will need to find someone to watch Addison for the days that my sister is down at the lake and unable to watch Addison. She will be there Thursday thru Monday and I think I will only be able to go Fri-Sun or Sat-Mon.... So I need someone for 2 days. Maybe Matt can take off and stay home with her.... Well see...

Wonderful Sunday with craptastic ending....

We had a great day today slept in, ate breakfast, took Addison for her first haircut, went to home depot (more on this below), store for odds and ends, braums for lunch, nap for everyone, playing in the backyard, dinner, bath and finally bed for Addy and quiet time for Matt and I.

Overall a wonderful day till I got the text about my check :( Bummer is it will be an actual check on Tuesday not direct deposit and I have bills that automatically come out of my account every 15th. So they will come out before I have time to take my check to the bank. Luckily my dad can help me out for a day so I don't overdraft but still sucks :(

Now on to home depot. When did this store start ranking up there with Target. I can't get enough of home depot. There so many ideas and I can't wait to have enough money to do all the upgrades we want on the house. Right now Matt and I try to splurge on one thing a year for the house. This year we may actually build the deck I have been dreaming of. We are outside people so having a nice place to hang out is important to me and to prove it here is Addison playing in the yard today. :)

First Haircut

Addison got her first haircut today at Cool Cuts 4 Kids. Her hair hair was getting so long in her eyes and she won't wear hair clips or bows of any kind so we got a trim. She did s wonderful job and sat still for the most part. I love this little girl so much. Here are some pictures.

So today has been one of those days! First off I started miscarrying yesterday so that hasnt been the greatest. Cramps off and on but not to much passing at this point yet but starting.

So that is still going on today which makes me feel miserable.

Then my old work is still getting my emails. Which is fine but for some reason my old savings account that I havent used in months sent them my statement. ugh. So I had to talk to them which I could care less to do.

Then to top it all off my Addison is sick. Fever got up to 102 today but thankfully my sister ROCKS and continued to watch her so I didnt have to take off. I would love to be at home with my sick kiddo but I have been out alot lately after finding out we lost the baby so I really need to conserve my vacation days. Matt is leaving work now to go get her :)

So that has been my day thus far. Hopefully nothing else goes wrong today or I might just break down and cry.

As I sit here watching my sweet girl eat her chicken nuggets. I watch all of these other kids run around like little maniacs. I thought this would be a good place for us to have a mommy daughter night but quite frankly I'm scared to let her go play. These kids will trample her to death. Even though the age for the play area is 0-3 these kids are quite obviously older than three so we may just sit and watch.

While sitting here for ten minutes we have already seen a grown girl poop her pants, and a boy go up to another persons table and drink someone's drink. Not his own!!! All while his mom watched.

We may not be coming back EVER!!!

Well our doctor gave us two options today. Wait it out and miscarry naturally or have a d&c. Gave us pros and cons of each. The kicker is with my insurance it will cost us 2000 dollars for the d&c. So in my mind I know of a million other things I want to do with my money and a surgery is not one of them. So waiting we will do. Hopefully it won't take too long.

It's over

Well got the call from the nurse this morning that my numbers only went up a tiny amount not even close to doubling like they should have. I have to go in Thursday for another u/s just to confirm and make a plan on how to get rid of the pregnancy.

I'm obviously upset but I do have Addison and a great support system so all will be ok. Now to decide to try again or wait a while. After a loss like this I'm not sure I want to try again right away. It's way harder than I imagined dealing with a loss like this.

Nurse called....

Well the nurse called this morning and said that my HCG level was right on track with 5 weeks along. They were 5767 to be exact and I have to go back on Monday for some more blood work.

Cross your fingers this number double or triples. If it does were in the clear and my dates were just off. If it doesn't then she said we will know that we have an unhealthy pregnancy.

Of course I'm hoping for the best but preparing for the worst!

I will keep everyone posted once I know more.

Based on when I ovulated I should be 6 weeks 5 days but at our ultrasound all they found was a sac with nothing we could see inside. The sac measured 5 weeks 5 days. So either the baby quit developing last week when I was spotting or my calculations are wrong. The doctor did blood work and wants me to come back next week. Until then I don't feel very optimistic.:(

Starting to feel a bit more optomistic. I shouldnt have any reason to worry my pregnancy with Addison went beyond smooth but I know everyone is different so I keep waiting on this one to take a turn.

So far hardly any symptoms at all. So still thinking girl since it feels the same as with Addison.

Well starting Wednesday I started spotting brown. Now its turned pinkish red. I know it could be nothing but I have an uneasy feeling. If it doesn't get worse we will wait till our appointment next Wednesday. If it does get worse ill call Monday.:(

how bad pregnancy headaches were. Ouch i have had 2-3 a day for the past few days. Tylenol helps them go away for a few hours then they come back.

As for any new syptoms, up until yesterday I felt nothing then it hit. I was peeing every hour and getting hungry every couple of hours. EXACT same as Addison, which has me still thinking were having another little girl which is A-OK with me :)

I am having the hardest time keeping my eyes open today! I don't know if its the fact that I got horrible sleep or that I am just used to taking naps at home since that is what I did the last 5 days before today. Either way its getting exhausting.

Well today is Valentines Day which honestly doesn't mean much to me. Matt and I don't typically do anything. We would rather save our money than go over board on a silly hallmark holiday. Loved should be expressed everyday for the ones you love not just on one day of the year. With that being said we will celebrate the only way we know how, with a home cooked meal and TV on the couch :)

Oh and on a side note we have our first doctors appointment on Feb 23rd @ 3:00 pm. Stay tuned for more on that.

Poor addy

Had to take Addison to the Dr today. After running a low fever since Sunday off and on she broke out in a rash. I knew the doctor wouldn't do anything for her but I just wanted to know what it was. Sure enough she has a viral infection. Contagious so she can't return to my sisters till Monday. So I guess I will be taking off today and tomorrow with her. Here is a picture of her rash :(

Blogging while I was pregnant with Addison was such a time passer and now that I look back it was really nice to have a very documented pregnancy to look back on.

So i think its time i get serious and start blogging more now that were expecting #2. Im unsure how far along I am at this moment but based on my LMP (last menstrual period) of 12/29/10 I would assume im about 5-6 weeks along. With and EDD of Oct 5, 2011. Which is two days after Addison's birthdate (10/3) but with Addy I was due 10/18 and had her two weeks early so who knows this little one could be here late September or could make me wait till my due date or after. Only time will tell I guess.

Most would ask what made me think I was pregnant this go around and honestly nothing. I have had not a single symptom. Again same as Addy which has me thinking girl hehe :) Matt was the one who actually suggest that I test and sure enough he was right.

Matt hopes for a little boy of course but I on the other hand am open to either a little boy would be nice to have one of each, but I also know how great having a sister is so that would be nice for Addy as well, but if I have hopes of having an more than these two I have to hope for a boy. Matt said the only way he would consent to having more than two is if this one is a boy cause he doesnt want to risk having 3 girls. He should just ask my dad though 3 girls is not so bad :)

Well thats all I have for now. I have a call in to the dr to make an appointment and will let yall know when it is and how it goes as soon as I know more.

Oh pictures with 3 little ones is not as fun as it sounds! The girls Mamaw T wanted to get some pictures of the girls to send to people for Christmas. So she bought them these cute Christmas dresses and some overalls to take pictures in. The girls did great but we did have some tears and some crazy side eye looks from Miss A that I swear I have never seen before!

Mom's 50th Birthday

On November 6th we celebrated my mom's birthday (actual birthday Nov 5th).

My mom turned the big 5-0 this year so of course my sisters and I had to do it up right, so we threw her a party at my house and invited family and some of her co workers.

I think the night turned out pretty good but ill let you judge for your self...

Halloween 2010

Halloween! This year we went back to our tradition of decorating and scaring the crap out of the neighborhood kids. We did this a few years ago and last year we kept it low key since Addison was just a few weeks old, but this year it was on again!

First off know that we LOVE Halloween! I love to decorate the outside and Matt and the boys love scaring the kids. Matt always dresses as the TX chain saw massacre guy and get a chain saw (Chain off of course).

This year was a little different we had a huge crowd! My sisters, their babies and husbands came out, my mom, Matt's brothers and wives/girlfriends and my nephew Hayden all came over. It was a blast having everyone over and just sitting out side watching the kids run!!

We even had most of our neighbors out of the house watching the show! Heck our neighbors right next to us weren't even passing candy out but still pulled out the lawn chairs and watched.

Kynli's Birthday

Oct 23rd - We celebrated Addy's buddies 1st birthday! Kynli is just 3 weeks younger than Addison. It has already been so cute to see the girls grow together over the past year. I think i can speak for all of my momma friends that were even more excited to see their friendships grow now that there older and a little more aware of each other. Addison has got it made will all of these great friends around her!

Oct 16th - Addison and her cousins all got to go and pet some adorable animals out at Green Meadow petting farm out by Joe Pool Lake. Addison was the only one who was really even big enough to know what was going on but it was still fun to take all of the girls together.

Little Gym Costume Carnival

Addison is a proud member of The Little Gym in Fort Worth and we absolutely love it there. We attend class every Saturday at 9:00am. This past Friday (10/15) they hosted a Costume Carnival and we took Addy.

We didn't stay long but did dress her up and let her hang out for a bit. There were a lot of bigger kids and all Addy wanted to do was run around with them. She refused to hold my hand and would let go and run (well as fast as she can run) off with the older kids. Which makes me nervous cause she is so small if people aren't looking down they could run over her. But none the less we had a good time and Addison even enjoyed her first sucker :)

1 year checkup

Yesterday I took Addy in for her 1 year check up and shots :( She handled them as well as can be expected. Cried harder than her 6 month shots but was over them before we left the office. We don't have to go back till April 8th for one more shot so that is a relief!

Here are her stats
Weight - 18lbs 12 oz (10th percentile)
Height - 29 1/2 inches (50th percentile)

Addison is still really small for her age but the Dr is not to worried about it because she has always been small and so have I so she figures she is just like her momma. We do have to take her for some routine blood work that the Dr requested.

Here are some things I want to remember about Addison at 1 years old:

- Walking all over the place! Prefers to walk over crawling and can even run some if you chase her! Which she finds hilarious!!

- Talking more and more each day. Here are some things she can say besides the normal mama/dada. Maddy, Megan, Pup, baby, bye bye and hi.

- Learning new things every day. She is working on her colors now and knows blue and yellow.

- 100% on whole milk and loving it.

- Eating 3 meals a day plus 2 snacks and juice

- Loves her cousin Maddy! Talks about her every day and kisses her when ever you tell her to give Maddy kiss.

- Loves her pups and kisses and climbs on them all the time! Good thing they don't mind :)

Letter to Addison from her dad:
Well I'm not big on the mushy stuff, but I'll try my best. A year ago today, big guns upstairs gave my wife Shanda and I the best gift any family could ask for. At 8:21 pm Oct. 3rd 2009 Addison Lynn Zaragoza was born. Everyday since then has been a roller coaster of an experience. It's amazing how I can be having the worsts of days, and all it takes is to hear her say da da to turn it around. Addy, daddy loves you very much, and words cant describe what you mean to me.

Addison's 1st Birthday!

Well what a whirlwind weekend! We spent Saturday cleaning up and shopping for the party, then Sunday we partied hard with Addison and all of our closest family and friends. Then Monday we went to the Dr for the dreaded 1 year check up and shots!

The birthday party was a lot of work but so much fun. Definitely a memorable day. Addison had all of her little friends come over (Kayla, Kynli, Madison and Lily) and all of momma and daddy's older friends as well. Addison refused to take a nap all morning. All the hustling around getting ready she knew something was up, and just as i expected about half way through he present opening she was done. Wore our and tired! So we hurried up and did the cake (which i don't have the pictures of yet). She fell asleep in her high chair as she was eating. Cutest thing ever!

So after she was done i cleaned her up and let her nap on me while her friends played with some of the toys. Then when she woke up and most of the guests left, my sister, Lauren and Kelley helped me open up all of the toys for the girls to play with. They are going to be such good friends for many years to come!

Addison's 1 year pictures

Tomorrow 10/3 is Addison's 1 year birthday! It is so hard to believe she has been all mine for a year! Where has the time gone!

Tomorrow we are having a party for Addison and then Monday is the dreaded 1 year shots and check up. So much more to update on in the next few days!

Last Saturday we went and had family pictures and Addison's 1 year pictures taken. Here are a few of my favorites.

Operation Addy gets a bedtime and sleeps in her own bed!

Well first a little back story on all of this. Addison since the day we brought her home was a great sleeper and started off the very first night in her crib and it stayed that way till I left my job, took her out of daycare, went on vacation, started a new job and put her in a new child care setting.

Wow that's a lot of changes for one little girl right! Well after all of these things happened her schedule got royally screwed up. She was still keeping a bed time and slept in her crib till we went on vacation and she had to sleep with us. That's when things started to go down hill. After a week of no bed time and sleeping with me when we got back we couldn't break her of it. (not going to lie I'm having to break myself as well! I didn't realize how nice it was to have her with me even at night.) Well now as you can imagine that kinda puts a damper on bedroom time with the hubby! So after 3 months of letting this go on its time to make a change!

So operation Addy gets a bed time has begun. I know she needs more sleep at night than she was getting and I know this momma needs a little break and alone time in the evenings to relax before bed.

So were taking things back to the way they were when she was itty bitty and what worked for us then to get her back on a routine.

Every night at 8:00pm we will go in my room with the lights dimmed drink her sippy of milk and rock in the rocker. Since I'm having to trick her in to sleeping there I cant lay her down in the crib awake like I used to so were having to rock asleep which surprisingly has been taking no time at all. Then sneak her in to the crib. Once she is good and used to sleeping there we will do without the rocking and just lay her down to put her self to sleep, but for now were trying to make this as painless as possible for both parties.

So far the going to bed at 8-8:30 has been well.

Night 1 - Rock and ate at 8:00, 8:30 in crib passed out, slept all night long till I woke her to get up for the day.

Night 2 - Rock and ate at 8:00, 8:15 in crib asleep, at some point woke up crying and Matt got her and put her in bed. I don't recall ever hearing her but she was almost on top of me when my alarm went off this morning.

It will take time but she will be back to normal here soon I know it :)

Softball Game

Wow this summer has been a hot one! We haven't been going outside too much but we have been busy with lots of other things.

One thing that we love to do but didn't get to this summer much is watch Daddy play softball. He took the summer off to spend time with Addison and accommodate our busy schedule, but this last Friday (8/27) he got asked to sub for his old team the Muckdogs for a double header and since it wasn't to hot, Addison and I joined him along with my mom (Addison's Grammy).

First things first we had to head to a Target for a little shopping while the boys warmed up. Then we headed to the fields.

Addison had a blast she just wanted to be down and walking around. Which made it hard to watch the game but she was entertainment enough :)
