Madison 4 days old...

Here is a picture of my sweet niece Madison. She is four days old and Megan (Mom) and baby are both still doing great!

Testing Testing...

We finally got our new camera in the mail and I decided to take a few pictures of Addison to test it out. Still trying to figure out all the settings so forgive me if there not perfect! I will get better :)

Many more to come :)

We will miss you Roxy

Friday Matt and I made the tough decision to put Roxy to sleep. She was just not doing well and over the last month has begun to fall apart even more.

Roxy was our first dog and we will miss her so much. About 4 and 1/2 years ago we rescued Roxy. She was attacked by two German Shepard and her owners basically dropped her off at the vets and left her to die. At that time my sister Megan worked at the vets office and after Roxy was all good and better she asked me if I would like to adopt her. Of course after taking one look at this sweet girl I had to take her home. At the time the vet assumed she was between 3 and 5 years old. So were assuming she lived to be between 8-10 which is typical for a Boxer but didn't make the decision any easier.

About 6 months ago Roxy started having strokes and lost almost half her weigh. She was eating but her body was just too weak to maintain a healthy weight. She was beginning to look like one of those sad dogs off the commercials. So we decided it would be best to just let her go peacefully instead of letting her suffer.

We will miss her but I know in my heart it was the best thing to do for her.

Here are a few pictures of my sweet girl.

We love you Roxy

Madison is here :)

Whew what a whirlwind of a day. I have been at a few deliveries over the past few years but this one was the most nerve racking. Not sure if it was just cause it was my sister and we have such a close bond, but I just wanted to jump in that bed and do it for her.

Miss Maddie was for sure a stubborn one! Just to recap here is how Megan's day went in detail. Megan was having contractions all night last night and was already in labor when arriving at the hospital but they decided to go ahead and give her the pitosin to move things along faster. The dr came in first thing when they got there and broke Megan's water. Once they did this they realized that at some point Madison had used the potty in the womb (#2) so there was the risk of meconium getting in her lungs upon birth. So Megan and Richard were told that the NICU team would be standing by and would take the baby to the cart right away to be checked out. Which meant no getting to have her on Moms chest right after birth which made Megs sad but it was what was best for the baby.

A few hours later Megan was checked and 3 cm.... 6cm... 8cm... then 10cm. All by 11 am.

Once she was dilated they were going to let her start pushing. They tried that for about 15 min and decided Maddie was just too high up and would need to make her way down a little further before she could come out.

So they waited and waited almost 3 hours. Then it was time to start pushing again. Megan pushed for roughly 30 min to an hour, but Miss M was very content where she was so the drs made the call that it would be best to do a c-section.

I know Megan had to be so scared and upset. She did alot of work just to have a c-section but if it was best for the baby she was going to do it.

So they took her back as i choked back tears of fear for my little sister.

Overall im sure this was not the birth Megan imagined but she has a healthy little girl to show for it so it was all worth it im sure.

I feel so lucky to get to be apart of all of their lives and cant wait for our girls to be the best of friends!

And now for what everyone has been waiting on the pictures :)

Update

Ok Maddie is a stubborn little girl and does not want to come down so Megan is heading back for a c-section.

Ill update more when I know more...

Update...

Sorry for the lack of updates... Things have been a little sketchy up here with details...

Basically she started pushing at 11 for about 15 min and Maddie was just not having it and was still too high. So they decided to let her wait a little longer to see if she would come down.

They are about to start pushing again and see what happens. There has been some talk of giving her a c-section if she doesn't come in to position soon or the baby starts to not take the pushing.

Sorry I don't know much more... Megs nurse has been running everyone off so that Megan can rest.

Update

Megan is still working on getting Miss Maddie out. She started to push and didnt have enough pressure down there to feel so they turned down her epi till she can start feeling again.

Ill update again when I know more. Richard and Megan are the only two in the room so im not so up to date...

11:45 Updates

Sorry for the lack of update the past few hours I went to lunch...

10:30 - dilated to a 6-7 (100% effaced)
11:20 - dilated to an 8
11:45 - dilated to a 10 and getting ready to push

Maddie will be here soon!! : )

8:10 Update

Megan is dilated to a 3, 80% effaced, and +1 (not 100% what that means hehe)

Mom is doing great so far. Things are progressing very well!!

7:05 am Update

Epidural is being done :)

Things are doing great! Megan is such a champ I am beyond proud of her she is handling all of this very well and now that the Epi is being done so the hard part is just about over.

I will update more when we know...

While im waiting...

While im sitting here in the waiting room I figured I would take the time to post some pictures and undates on my own little munchkin :)

Addison is now 7 months old a few weeks from being 8 and I still cant believe she is all mine. I love her more and more everyday and dont know what I would do with out here.

Here are a few pictures of Miss A and even a video of her laughing too :)

Ok Video wont post :( Ill do that later from home...

7 months....

As of yesterday Addison is 7 months old.... and my camera is still broken :( Hoping to get a new one this weekend so I can start taking pictures of her. Now that she is rolling and even starting to crawl (backwards only) I hope to get a lot more pictures of her. Besides the normal her laying or sitting pictures :)

Here are some things that I want to remember from 6 months to 7 months....

- Still taking 6 oz every 4 hours

- Eating baby food 3 times a day

- Rolling from tummy to back and getting real close to back to tummy

- Starting to push up on her knees but only can move her self backwards

- Learned to jump in her exersaucer

- Says Mama and Pup (only said this a few times but clearly knows when I say pup that were talking about the dogs)

- Loves her Pups! Tries to grab on them every time they walk by :)

- Laughs all the time!

Here are a few pictures that my sister took at my dads house. Cant wait for it to be warm enough to take Addy swimming. I think she will be a water baby just judging from the way she loves bath time!
